Situated on 1000 acre working station overlooking New Zealand's renowned Wainui Beach. The blackhouse has breathtaking 360 degree views of ocean and farm land. This totally private luxury accommodation offers a fully-equipped industrial style kitchen for your own use or to bring in a chef to cater for your needs. There are two super king bedrooms, one king bedroom including four bunks and three bathrooms with two ensuites. The open plan living area is ideal for relaxing, entertaining or soaking up the surroundings, with a large central fire place creating a unique focal point in the room. This lodge can accommodate up to ten people.

Nestled beside the mid-reaches of theWaimata River, at the end of a riverside cul-de-sac, this four bedroom property is a soothing, healing, tranquil hideaway under leafy trees, with a view of the Waimata river valley, a private jetty, outdoor living, Japanese inspired gardens, spa pool, hammock and just generally a really cool place to hang out. The river is right on the doorstep with free use of a seletion of kayaks and canoes to explore the clear upper reaches of the river that flows down through Gisborne city and out on to Waikanae Beach. Safe, clean swimming and fishing from the pontoon jetty at the bottom of the garden. Fresh veges to pick in season. Two friendly black cats, Tui and Neko, plus Momo the goat to keep you company (optional). Five minutes from the city centre by car, a little longer by canoe. It's not Wainui Beach exactly, but this place is so amazing we have to recommend it as the next best option to being on the beach front – or maybe even better.
