AJ Hector Kinsella, born 23 April 2009 at 7lb 13oz. A son for Andy and Rebecca Kinsella of Moana Road, a brother for Eva (2), a cousin for Nia (2) and another grandchild for Nigel and Vicki O’Leary.
Nick and Jo Webb of Douglas Street welcomed baby Finn into the world on 31 July 2009. A brother for 21/2 year old Hannah. Nick is the son of Tammy and Alan Webb of Gisborne and is in fact a great-grandson of Edward Rowley Murphy who subdivided the south end of Wainui and whom Murphy Road is named after.
It was a sister act this year with Jade and Gina having babies at just about the same time this spring. That’s Jade and Damon Gunness on the left with China, born August 27 at 7lb 8oz. And Chea on the right with Gina Robinson and Michael Ferguson, born October 1 at 8lb 12oz. Chea’s big sister Mia is 3.
A brother for 2-1/2 year old Amelia and a boy for Kris and Rhonda, Hunter Mark Clapham, arrived at the beach on Thursday, September 25, at 7lb 5oz.
Charlie Keepa missed being in the Beach Babe parade last issue and is now already one-year-old. She is the lovely daughter of Sonia and Cody Keepa of Murphy Road, born on October 27, 2007. Brother Jack is 4-1/2.
Born Sunday, September 7 Tilly Lisla Lovelock was a perfect 81lb Fathers Day present for Jimmy from Georgina. Georgina owns Talking Heads salon and James is the former Tsunami Bar head chef, now operating his gardening and landscaping business, Lawn and Garden Services.
Charlie Campbell Whitfield introduced himself to his parents Amy and David and sister Olivia on Halloween Night, Friday, October 31, weighing in at a strapping 11lb 3oz.
Tigher Hill (4) is stoked to have a little brother, Ziggy Hill, who arrived on Monday, June 26. His parents are John and Naome Hill and they live in Douglas Street.
A baby sister for Harry and George and a daughter for Andy and Georgina, Meg Allan turned up in Murphy Road on Tuesday, July 22, at 6lb 14oz.
Local graphic artist Rees Morley couldn’t have drawn up a better looking baby boy than Mac Morley, with no small part played in the design concept by Cathy. Mac arrived on Tuesday, October 14, weighing 9lb 2oz.
A second generation Wairere Roadian is Matua Kowhai Judd, born at 8lb 8oz on Monday, September 15 last year, and a happy little boy for Greg and Huia Judd and a grandchild for Bruce and well-known Wainui artist Erika Holden. Greg is the son of Denzil and Rose Judd of Matawhero, and he’s the friendly fellow who drives the D.B. Judd Holdings water truck when needed and is operations manager for the family firm.
The ever expanding Ryan family welcomed the six week early arrival of Daniel Darryn Ryan at 4lb 3oz on Wednesday, February 27. Daniel is a healthy, happy little brother to Brie 6 and Jay 2. Caroline is a full-time mum to the Ryan crew of Douglas Street and dad Kelly is a popular Lytton high school teacher and well known for his longboard surfing exploits. Kelly is also Beach/Life surfing correspondent.
Meet Perle Moana Rasby, born at 7lb 2oz on Sunday, February 10, to Brent “Young Razza” and Helena. Brent is the son of Bob “Old Razza” and the late Kathy, growing up at the beach in Murphy Road. Helena is an osteopath and a French import from Normandy, who came to Gisborne to learn to surf and works with the “Frenchmen” at ECO Osteo. Brent is a nurse at Gisborne Hospital.
Rugged up and strapped in for a winter’s walk along the beach is Jacob Christian Gilmour, who arrived on the scene weighing 9lb 3oz on Tuesday, March 4th. His mum and dad Steve and Caroline Gilmour are living along Moana Road. Mum is originally from South Africa and is an ER doctor at Gisborne Hospital. Dad is from Wanganui.
Boardroom owners Tom and Hayley Dalton are so happy to have Jett Nicholas Dalton on the surf team. Jett, weighing in at a chart topping 9lb 10oz, arrived on Friday afternoon June 6th, just in time for Friday drinks at grandma and grandpa’s.
Definitely bound for equestrian glory is second generation Wainuian Toby David Lane (born at 6lb 12oz on the 28th of May), pictured here with mum Sarah Aitken. Sarah’s mum and dad, Trudy and David Aitken, have lived at the beach for thirty years or more. Sarah, Tom and Toby are living on the “farm” at the end of Lysnar Street where Sarah is running her riding school and Tom breeds polo ponies.
New Makorori resident is Jade Isabella Stirton, a grand child for John and Jan Stirton of Sirrah Street. Dad Kane Stirton is Wainui born and bred and mum Leanne Harrison is an Aussie import by way of Auckland, but has owned a house at the end of Makorori Beach for nearly ten years now. Leanne is a social environmental planner working part time for a Wellington based consultancy firm from home via the internet.
